West Ham: over 50,000 season tickets sold for the club's move to the Olympic Stadium in 2016-17

West Ham United FC (Premier League) have sold more than 50,000 season tickets (including VIP tickets) for the 2016-17 season, announced the club on 09/05/2016. The entire allocation of season tickets were sold by the club and 30,000 people have been placed on a waiting list for a 2017-18 season ticket subject to availability.

West Ham will remain at the Boleyn Ground (35,000 seats) until the end of the 2015-16 season, but the club will become a resident of the London Olympic Stadium (60,000 seats) from 2016-17. The capacity of the stadium was originally reduced from 80,000 - 54,000 places for the club's move to the site in August 2016, however the London club announced that the capacity of the Olympic Stadium would finally be fixed at 60,000 places to meet high demand for tickets.

"As a result of the unprecedented demand, West Ham will now boast the highest number of season ticket holders in London, and the highest percentage of season ticket holders in the whole of the Premier League," said the club, whose 2016-17 season tickets were sold between £675 - £955 (€945 - €1,338), a…
