Premier League: Liverpool open an online store on the Chinese e-commerce platform JD.com

Liverpool FC (Premier League) have opened an online store in partnership with JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce platform, on 10/05/2016. The venture was launched at an event organised in Shanghai in the presence of two former Reds players Vladimir Smicer and Patrick Berger. The platform (liverpoolfc.jd.hk) will market club products such as swimwear, accessories and other personalised souvenirs.

Since 07/08/2012 the Merseyside club have had an online store accessible in China, Taiwan and Macau, and proceeded to launch five new versions of its online shop in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam on 18/02/2015. Liverpool FC have 1.7 million fans on the Chinese microblogging platform Sina Weibo.

"Our millions of Reds fans in China are extremely passionate and committed, and we are delighted that they now have quick and convenient access to a wide range of Liverpool FC merchandise on JD.com," said Billy Hogan, Liverpool's chief commercial officer.
