Euro 2016: Sport1 acquires the digital radio rights for all 51 matches via a sublicense

The German public broadcasting companies ARD and ZDF have sublicensed the free digital rights for radio, in Germany, of the 51 meetings of Euro 2016, to the German audiovisual group Sport1, on 10/05/2016. These rights were assigned by SportA, the media rights and marketing agency owned by ARD and ZDF. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

The 51 matches will be broadcast on the digital radio channel Sport1.fm and match highlights will be available on Sport1.de and the Sport1 mobile platform. The group does not broadcast live match streams on its platforms.

"Euro 2016 is the highlight of the 2016 football calendar. Our viewers, listeners and users can expect 360-degree coverage with all matches live on the radio channel Sport1.fm, which fans can access from anywhere, plus additional content available on our digital platforms. Sport1 will offer Euro 2016 like never before on its platforms," said Olaf Schröder, managing director of Sport1, on 10/05/2016.
