FIFA: Gibraltar and Kosovo become the 210^th and 211^th affiliated national federations

"The FIFA Congress followed the recommendation of the FIFA Council and confirmed the admission of Gibraltar (172 votes for, 12 against) and Kosovo (141 votes for, 23 against), as the 210^th and 211^th FIFA members," said the international federation after its congress in Mexico City (MEX), on 13/05/2016.

"Both associations will be entitled to take part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with UEFA tasked to look into the best way to integrate Kosovo and Gibraltar in the preliminary competition," added FIFA.

The admission of these two new national federations means that UEFA now has the most affiliated associations of any confederation (it now has 55, one more than CAF who have 54).
