Scottish Premier League: Hearts enter administration and deducted 15 points

Heart of Midlothian FC (10^th in Scottish Premier League in 2012-13) have entered administration on the 19/06/2013, with accountancy firm BDO taking over the running of the Edinburgh club. The club have debts of €29m, owed to companies formerly owned by Russian-Lithuanian Vladimir Romanov, who first invested in the club in 2005.

Hearts will begin the 2013-14 season with a 15-point deduction. The player registration ban imposed by the SPL (Scottish Premier League) on the 14/06/2013, for failing to pay this month's wages, will remain in place until this administration period is over.

"Hearts has no funds at all to meet costs. Job losses are inevitable", Bryan Jackson, the Hearts administrator told BBC Radio Scotland on the 20/06/2013, "we need to cut costs as quickly as we can. I think there will be losses on the footballing side, although that has already been cut down quite a bit", he added.
