Bundesliga: ZTE (smartphones) partners with Borussia Mönchengladbach for two seasons (2016-2018)

ZTE, a Chinese manufacturer of smartphones, has became a co-sponsor of VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach (Bundesliga), which is the second level in the German club's partnership pyramid, for two seasons (2016-2018) on 12/05/2016. ZTE also became the official smartphone of Borussia Monchengladbach.

this is their first Chinese partner in the history of the club. "For us, China is a highly exciting market because we want to be there to continue to grow. That's why we are pleased to have, with ZTE, a partner on board who brings us closer to the culture of China. We are convinced that both sides benefit from cooperation," said Stephan Schippers, the CEO of Borussia Mönchengladbach.

ZTE has been present in Germany since 2006, with a local office in Düsseldorf (1000 employees) and a design centre in Munich (400 employees). The company targets a 4% share of the German smartphone market by the end of 2017.
