Europa League Final: Liverpool FC largely dominate Sevilla FC in economic measures

With £297m (or €412.8m on 31/05/2015) in turnover, excluding player trading, during the 2015 fiscal year (from 01/06/2014 to 31/05/2015), Liverpool FC (Premier League) leads Sevilla FC (Liga BBVA), which generated €85.5m, excluding player trading, in 2014-15, ahead of their clash at St. Jakob-Park in Basel in the final of the 2015-16 Europa League on Wednesday 18/05/2016 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

The economic dominance of Liverpool over Sevilla can be seen in all revenue categories: the TV rights received by the English club in 2015 were more than four times higher than those by Sevilla in 2014-15 (£122.6m or €170.4m, against €39m for the Spanish side); the matchday income of Liverpool was more than two times higher than Sevilla's (£56m or €82m, against €34.7m) and a scale of 14 to 1 in terms of commercial revenue (£116.3m or €161.7m for Liverpool, against €11.6m for Sevilla).

Liverpool FC also lead on social networks: the English club has between 10 and 25 times more fans than the Sevilla FC on all major platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube).
