Premier League: adidas extends kit deal with Middlesbrough, promoted in 2016-17, for several seasons

The German sports equipment manufacturer adidas extended its partnership with Middlesbrough FC, who finsished second in the Championship in 2015-16 and earned promotion to the Premier League in 2016-17, on 16/05/2016. adidas has been a partner of the English club since 2009-10. The exact duration of the new partnership, spanning several seasons, was not specified.

“We are excited by the prospect of continuing to grow the partnership as the club move into that next chapter,” said Gavin Thomson, managing director of adidas for Northern Europe.

Middlesbrough FC played in the kit of the Italian brand Errea from 1994-95 to 2008-09. The North Eastern club participated in every Premier League season since the league's inception in 1992-93, until "the Smoggies" were relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2008-09 season.

The launch of the 2016-17 adidas shirts for the club, both home and away, will be held on 20/05/2016.
