IMG launches Sport 24 Extra, a second sports channel for aircraft, on 01/06/2016

The media rights and marketing agency IMG will launch Sport 24 Extra, a second live sports channel for the airline market on 01/06/2016, announced the group on 12/05/2016. IMG Sports already broadcast channel 24 on 11 airlines including Emirates, Etihad, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways or Turkish Airlines. Sport 24 Extra will first be broadcast on Emirates and Turkish Airlines.

Sport 24, launched in March 2012, broadcasts the Premier League, Bundesliga, NFL, NBA, Formula 1, grand slams (tennis) and the four major golf tournaments (British Open, US Open, The PGA Championship, The Masters). It is broadcast in partnership with Panasonic, a Japanese electronics group, which provides its eXTV television network and its eXConnect flight technology so as to broadcast television to passengers during their flight.
