Spain: FC Barcelona's Camp Nou will be fitted with a hybrid pitch from September 2016

FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) will fit a hybrid pitch at the Camp Nou (99,500 capacity) in September 2016, announced the Spanish club on 18/05/2016.

The 100% natural grass pitch at Camp Nou will be entirely re-layed from 18/05/2016, following a Bruce Springsteen concert (American singer) held there on 14/05/2016. The new pitch, still 100% natural grass, will be installed for the Top 14 Final which is to be held at Camp Nou on 24/06/2016. The pitch will then be re-layed once more after the rugby match so as to be fit to host the first Barça home matches of the 2016-17 season. Hybrid technology will then be installed at Camp Nou during the international break in September 2016.

"We conducted hybrid technology tests on two bits of turf at the training centre and the conclusion was that the hybrid pitch allows for better mobility and stability, and offers a better performance for football," said FC Barcelona, who also announced that a hybrid pitch will also be installed at one of their training grounds.
