Liga BBVA: Nike extends with FC Barcelona until 2025-26 (€105m for 2016-17, then €155m per year)

The American brand Nike has extended its kit supplier contract with FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) for "a long time", announced the brand and the club, on 20/05/2016. The previous contract between Nike and Barça was set to expire on 30/06/2018. The kit supplier has been the shirt provider of FC Barcelona since 1998. The new contract must be approved at the next general meeting of the club's socios.

The annual amount, excluding sporting performance bonuses, could amount to €105m for the 2016-17 season, then reach almost €155m annually from 2017-18, according to Catalan media on 21/05/2016. The agreement could cover a period of ten years, until 2025-26, and could represent a deal worth more than four times the amount that Nike paid annually through the end of the 2015-16 fiscal year (€33m).

This kit supplier agreement between Nike and FC Barcelona will become the most lucrative partnership of its kind in the world, ahead the one between adidas and Manchester United (Premier League), which is £75m (€96.1m) per season over the 2015 -2025 period.
