"The unique partnership that has been forged between the OECD, the French State and the host cities of Euro 2016 has led to a remarkable display of expertise," said Patrick Kanner, the French Minister of the City, Youth and Sports, upon receiving the OECD report entitled "International sporting events and local development: France facing Euro 2016" on 19/05/2016.

"This report was produced in collaboration with the Department of the City, Youth and Sports and the 10 host cities for the Euro 2016 tournament," indicated the OECD dossier in their introduction.

"On all fronts - security, entertainment, economy, employment, renovation of stadiums - our country, through its government, its communities, its companies, has injected exceptional enthusiasm into the project due to the desire to host 'Euro 2016," said Patrick Kanner, alongside Mari Kiviniemi, former Prime Minister of Finland and the Deputy Secretary General of the OECD, and French host city representatives.
