France: Solferino company (LUX) acquires RC Lens (Ligue 2), Atlético Madrid will own 35%

The Luxembourg company Solferino has acquired RC Lens (Ligue 2), following the validation of the club's takeover project by the Commerce of Paris office on23/05/2016.

The commerce office had opened, on 04/05/2016, a bankruptcy procedure for RCL Holding (99.99% ownded by Baghlan Group, which is property of the Azerbaijan businessman Hafiz Mammadov), the entity which held 99.8% of the capital of the limited company Racing Club de Lens. The takeover proposal from Solferino was only submitted to the Paris commerce office on 18/05/2016. The takeover amount for RC Lens by Solferino is €660,000.

"The assets of RC Lens are granted to the company Solferino and Club Atlético de Madrid (Liga BBVA). Solferino represents a number of international investors, mainly based in London (ENG). These investors have developed knowledge of the club over several months, and are highly interested in its potential.
