Copa America Centenario: $21.5m (€19.25m) in prize money for the 8 teams which reach knockout rounds

The winner of the Copa America Centenario 2016, a special edition of the tournament being held in the United States to celebrate the centennials of both the competition itself and also the inception of CONMEBOL, will receive $6.5m (€5.8m) in prize money, confirmed CONMEBOL and CONCACAF -- the joint organisers of the event -- on 18/05/2016.

In total, $21.5m (€19.25m) in prize money will be paid out to the eight national teams which reach the knockout stage of the tournament. The competition includes 16 teams in total, and the group phase begins on 03/06/2016 with the opening match between the host country, the United States, and Colombia at Levi's Stadium in San Jose (California) at 18:30 local time, 21:30 US East coast time, and 03:30 CET.
