The CEO of the DFL, Christian Seifert, has invited the 36 German professional clubs of the top two divisions to Frankfurt (GER), the headquarters of the Bundesliga, for an extraordinary general meeting on Thursday 09/06/2016, one day before the opening of Euro 2016. The selected broadcasters for the 2017-2021 domestic audiovisual rights tender to the Bundesliga, the 2.Bundesliga, the promotion-relegation play-offs and the German Supercup should be announced at this meeting, according German media on 24/05/2016.

The DFL launched the 2017-2021 audiovisual rights tender for Germany on 21/03/2016.

The DFL "hopes to receive between €1.1bn and €1.5bn" per year for the Bundesliga's domestic TV rights during the 2017-2021 period, said Christian Seifert, on the sidelines of the presentation of the lots and new initiatives in the tender for the domestic audiovisual rights to German professional football for 2017-2021, according to German media on 12/04/2016.
