Digital: Cristiano Ronaldo launches a Mandarin account on the Chinese social network Sina Weibo

Cristiano Ronaldo (31 years old, Real Madrid CF) has launched a Mandarin account on the Chinese micro-blogging platform Sina Weibo, on 16/05/2016. Within 10 days, the captain of the Portuguese national team registered more than 30,000 followers, in addition to the 11.4 million who already follow him on his official Tencent account (another Chinese social network), created on 20/09/2011.

The new account should allow Cristiano Ronaldo to expand his digital fan base in the Chinese market, but also to keep his place among the most followed personalities on the internet. He became the first athlete to surpass 200 million cumulative followers on the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, on 23/02/2016.
