Africa: Canal+ acquire TV rights for Euro 2016 and the Copa America Centenario

The pay TV group, Canal+ Afrique, a branch of the Canal+ Overseas department dedicated to Africa, acquired the broadcasting rights to Euro 2016 and the Copa America Centenario, on 01/06/2016. All 32 games of the Copa America and all 51 matches of Euro 2016 will be broadcast on Canal+ Sport 1 and Canal+ Sport 2, which will be available in 25 sub-Saharan countries (see below).

Five live specials dubbed "La Fête du foot" ("The festival of football") will be filmed in public locations and presented by Messaoud Benterki will be available on 10/06/2016, 24/06/2016 and 30/06/2016m and also on 06/07/2016 and 10/07/2016 on Canal+ Sport 1.

Euro 2016: TV Media Sport has the TV rights for 38 sub-Saharan countries

  • The French media rights agency TV Media Sport will manage the distribution of the live broadcasting rights for Euro 2016 for 38 sub-Saharan countries, on 09/11/2015.
