IFAB: launching of a website and official accounts on social networks

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has launched a website, an official account on Facebook and another on Twitter, announced the body on 31/05/2016. The creation of these new channels of communication comes at the time where new Laws of the Game have entered into force, for which the concerned amendments were approved by the IFAB on 05/03/2016.

These platforms have been "developed to focus on the Laws of the Game of Football and promote consistency of interpretation and uniformity of application. All information is now available, easily accessible and centralised", stated the IFAB.

In addition to "video assistance for match officials", the IFAB unanimously approved a revision of the Laws of the Game, via an 18-month project led by the technical sub-committee of the IFAB, under the leadership of former Premier League referee, David Elleray (ENG). The 94 modifications are presented as a "unique" opportunity to correct anomalies and inconsistencies", stated FIFA on 05/03/2016.
