Germany: RTL acquires TV rights for die Mannschaft (qualifiers for Euro 2020 and World Cup 2022)

The German broadcaster RTL has acquired the rights to broadcast, in Germany, the German national team's qualifying matches for Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, on 30/05/2016. RTL holds the rights to 28 of the 40 matches of the German team, acquired from CAA Eleven (CAA aa), the Swiss company that has managed the commercial rights of national teams in UEFA competitions since 2012.

Germany's qualifying matches for Euro 2020 (tournament across 13 cities of 13 countries in the UEFA zone) will be played between September 2018 and October or November 2019 and qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup (in Qatar) will be played between September 2020 and October or November 2021. RTL will also broadcast all the friendly matches of die Mannschaft, including those of the UEFA Nations League.

The agreement includes rights across all platforms, and also includes the ability to show match summaries of all other European nation's qualification matches.
