TV5MONDE Afrique: acquisition of broadcasting rights for the 2016 Olympics for Sub-Saharan Africa

TV5MONDE Afrique acquired the broadcasting rights, for Sub-Saharan Africa, to the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, announced the channel on 01/06/2016. These rights were acquired in partnership with TV Media Sport, a French media rights agency, and Infront Sports & Media, a Swiss marketing and media rights agency.

The channel will offer six hours live every day (15:00-18:00 and 19:00-22:00 local time, 17:00-20:00 and 21:00-midnight CET) from 05 to 11/08/2016 and nine hours per day from 12 to 21/08/2016 with the addition of a time slot from 23:00-2:00 local time (01:00-4:00 CET).

"Particular attention will be given to successful African athletes. TV5MONDE is pleased with this deal which allows us to bring the values of sport and the Francophonie to the African continent," said the channel on 01/06/2016.
