Premier League: Martin Bain to become the CEO of Sunderland AFC as of 01/07/2016

Martin Bain (UK) will take up the role of CEO of Sunderland AFC (Premier League) on 01/07/2016, announced the club on 21/05/2016. He replaces Margaret Byrne, who resigned in March 2016 following the scandal provoked by the player Adam Johnson, convicted of sexual assault of a minor.

Martin Bain, 47 years old, was the general chief executive of the Scottish club Glasgow Rangers between 2005 and 2011, and most recently of the Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, before he left for Sunderland.

I have been fortunate to be a part of a team that has brought great success to two clubs with passionate supporter bases and I am excited by the opportunity to do the same at Sunderland.
