"It exists, the threat (of terrorism), even though we should never allow it to affect us (in everyday life). This threat will, alas, go on for a long time. It is therefore necessary that we take all necessary measures to ensure that this Euro 2016 is successful," stated François Hollande, the President of the France, about the risk of a terrorist attack during the tournament, on 05/06/2016.

"France has been hit twice by terrorism in 2015. About the Euro, I decided not only to maintain the competition and keep the fan-zones, but it was necessary to ensure that it is a European party, popular and sporting. To accomplish this, you have to put in the resources; 90,000 people are already assigned for security in the stadiums and fan-zones," added François Hollande on the France Radio station France Inter, in the show" L’œil du Tigre", on 05/06/2016.

The President will attend the opening match of Euro 2016, France-Romania, at the Stade de France (Saint-Denis), on Friday 10/06/2016 (kick-off at 21:00).
