Ligue 1: Orange Velodrome, new 10-year (2016-2026) naming rights deal for the Marseille stadium

Orange, the French telecommunications group, has acquired the naming rights for the Velodrome in Marseille (67,000 capacity) for 10 years, on 03/06/2016. The ground, which is home to Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1), will be called the Orange Velodrome over the 2016-2026 period. The partnership also covers the "digital transformation and connectivity of the stadium". The annual amount of the deal is estimated at €2.7m.

Orange will deploy high density Wi-Fi coverage throughout the stadium, as well as in areas outside the ground. "With 1,000 hotspots and a capacity of 20,000 concurrent connections, this network will allow spectators to share their photos and videos and access specific content. The media and organisers will also receive strengthened Wi-Fi coverage in their reserved areas," said Orange.
