Council of Europe: "Sport unavoidable issue between Member States" (Stanislas Frossard, EPAS)

Negotiation of a new international convention against manipulation in sport and security at sporting events and equality between men and women in sport are "some examples of operational cooperation which show that the sports sector within the Council of Europe has developed considerably over the past 10 years," said Stanislas Frossard, the Executive Secretary of the EPAS (Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport), to News Tank Football on 13/06/2016.

EPAS, a body comprising of 37 countries as of 13/06/2016 (see list below), was established by the Council of Europe, on 11/05/2007, "in order to give a new impetus to pan-European cooperation and the challenges which sport is currently facing in Europe. It also enables dialogue between public authorities, sports federations and non-governmental organisations. This cooperation contributes to better governance, so as to make sport healthier, safer, and in accordance with high ethical standards," states EPAS.
