Italy: FIGC to invest €3m in modernising the Coverciano national training centre near Florence

The FIGC has announced plans to invest €3m in upgrades to modernise the Coverciano national training centre, which is near Florence (ITA), the Italian Federation announced on 01/06/2016.

This money has been made available "for the conversion and refurbishment of Coverciano. This includes re-laying the football pitches, part of which has already started, and rebuilding the changing rooms, the medical centre, the hotel and the canteen,” stated Michele Uva, the director general of the FIGC.

The Coverciano national training centre, also informally known as "Casa Italia", was first opened in 1958.
