Germany: Bundesliga TV rights awarded to Sky, Eurosport, ARD, ZDF, Perform, Amazon for 2017-2021

Sky Deutschland, Eurosport, ARD, ZDF, Sport1, Perform and Amazon have all been awarded a share of the domestic audiovisual rights to the Bundesliga, the 2.Bundesliga, the promotion-relegation play-offs and the German Supercup for the 2017-2021 cycle, announced the German Professional League on 09/06/2016.

The DFL has now already obtained €4.64bn in revenue for the 2017-2021 cycle (€1.16bn per season), or 85% more than during the 2013-2017 cycle, with Lots 15 and 17 to yet to be awarded, for the domestic broadcasting rights to all the German professional football competitions.

• Eurosport, acquired, for its pay platforms, Lot A, which includes the Bundesliga on Friday and Monday evenings, as well as the promotion-relegation play-offs.
• The pay-TV group Sky Deutschland retained most of its TV rights from the previous cycle, with its Saturday afternoon multiplex and Saturday and Sunday schedules (Lots B, C, D, E, F and G)
• ZDF acquired Lot H, which includes three Bundesliga matches on Matchdays 1, 17, and 18.
• ARD keeps Lots I and M for its magazine programme "Sportschau", which…
