Euro 2016: 41 leagues represented, but more than 25% of the players played in England in 2015-16

102 players who played in the Premier League in 2015-16 will take part in Euro 2016, which makes the English top flight the most represented league (18.4% of the 552 registered players) at the European tournament, hosted in France from 10/06 to 10/07/2016, according to figures from News Tank Football.

22 of the 23 English internationals (photo) belong to a Premier League club; goalkeeper Tom Heaton is the only one to another league, for Burnley (Championship) in the English second division (promoted to the Premier League in 2016-17). In total, of the 552 players for Euro 2016, 139 (25.1%) played in England in 2015-16. In addition to the 102 Premier League players, 37 participants played in the English lower divisions: 31 in the Championship (2nd division), 5 in League One (3rd division) and 1 in League Two (4th division).
