Premier League: Virgin Media (telecom) to be the main shirt sponsor of Southampton FC for 2016-2019

The British group Virgin Media Telecommunications has became the main shirt sponsor of Southampton FC (Premier League) for three seasons, 2016-2019, on 08/06/2016. The annual amount is £10m (€12.7m on 10/06/2016), according to several British media outlets, eight times more than Veho (electronics) paid as the "Saints" shirt sponsor of over the 2014-2016 period (£1.2m/€1.5m per season).

Virgin Media gets visibility on all Southampton FC communication media and plans to focus its partnership on the club's engagement with fans. "Virgin and the Saints both like to do things a little bit differently; we’ll be working together to give fans the best experience in football whether they are at home, away or watching on TV.
