Euro 2016: 28 matches shown for free in Spain on the UEFA.com platform

28 of the 51 games of Euro 2016 will be broadcast via free streaming on the UEFA.com website in Spain, UEFA announced on 10/06/2016. The exclusive agency of UEFA, CAA Eleven, has not managed to sell this 28 games to a pay-TV broadcaster in Spain.

Mediaset España have acquired the TV rights for Euro 2016, in Spain, from UEFA, announced the Spanish broadcaster on 18/05/2016. Mediaset España will broadcast 23 of the 51 matches, including all those featuring the Spanish national team and the opening match (France-Romania, 2-1, on 10/06/2016), as well as all 15 games of the knockout stage, including the final. Euro 2016, whose rights may have cost the Iberian broadcaster €45m, should be broadcast on Telecinco and Cuatro, free channels of the Mediaset España group, according to Spanish media on 12/05/2016.

Mediaset España and beIN Sports España refused to pay the €10m demanded by CAA Eleven and UEFA for the remainder of the TV rights for Spain, according to the Spanish media on 10/06/2016.
