Liga BBVA: Chinese investor Jiang Lizhang becomes majority shareholder of Granada CF

"Jiang Lizhang, owner of the Chinese company Link Internation Sports Limited, reached an agreement with Gino Pozzo to acquire shares and become the majority shareholder of the club," announced Granada CF (Liga BBVA), on 14/06/2016.

The businessman Jiang Lizhang is the CEO of the Chinese sports marketing agency Desports, which holds Link Internation Sports Limited, an entity created to purchase Granada. The Desports agency belongs to the Chinese multinational group Wuhan Double. The acquisition of 99% of the capital of Granada CF by Link Internation Sports Limited from Gino Pozzo is worth €37m, according several Spanish media outlets. This agreement was approved by the CSD.

The Pozzo family (Gino and his son Giampaolo) own two other clubs in the European Top 5 Leagues: Udinese Calcio (Serie A TIM) and Watford FC (Premier League). Granada CF had been owned by the Pozzo family since 2009.
