Greenpeace, an international NGO for environmental protection, has partnered Leeds United FC (Championship), announced the club on 11/06/2016. This partnership is the first between Greenpeace and a football club.

"The new partnership will see the Club highlight some of the major environmental issues currently facing the planet, with a focus on raising awareness for Greenpeace’s campaign to protect the world’s rainforests and to support Greenpeace's campaign to protect marine life such as whales, sharks and turtles from destructive fishing, pollution and climate change," stated the Yorkshire club.

The English gaming operator 32Red online casino is the shirt sponsor of Leeds United for 2016-17. Promoting gambling operators has been prohibited on youth teams kits in England, therefore Leeds United decided to display the Greenpeace logo instead. These shirts will be sold by the club for £45 (€56), with £5 (€6.30) donated to Greenpeace per sale.
