adidas Group expects a record sales figure of €2.5bn for its football division in 2016

"We are on track to achieving sales of €2.5 billion with football products this year (2016). This marks a new record for our brand and manifests our leading position in football globally," said Herbert Hainer, CEO of the adidas Group, on 16/06/2016.

This would represent a 14% increase over football-related sales in 2015 (€2.2bn). In 2015, the sales of football sector represented 13% of the total adidas Group turnover, which was €16.9bn in 2015 (against €14.5bn in 2014, so +16%), adidas announced on 11/02/2016. The German group expects "double-digit" growth for its sales and operating profit in 2016.

"We have gained market share in the five largest western European markets in the first quarter 2016, and in five key cities: Paris, Rome, London, Berlin and Barcelona," announced the German sports equipment brand, who is also a Eurotop sponsor of Euro 2016.
