Fox Sports Italy : the channel will be distributed by Sky Italy

"Fox Sports Italy will be distributed by Sky Italy. This will be a HD channel, no other versions have been planned for the moment", Belén de Frías, head of European communications at FIC (Fox International Channels), told NTF on the 25/06/2013.

"FIC will launch the Fox Sports channel in Italy in August 2013", the spokesman added. FIC and Sky's Italian subsidiary are two companies from the international media group, News Corp., Rupert Murdoch's conglomerate.

Fox Sports have the broadcasting rights for the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1 and the FA Cup (English domestic cup) in the Italian market. Sky Italia had previously held the TV broadcasting rights to the English Premier League and La Liga until 2011/12.

"Fox Sports Italy's budget is confidential", says Belén de Frías.
