Euro 2016: courtyard of the Hotel de Ville (Paris) becomes the Square of Europe (18/06-10/07/2016)

"The courtyard of the City Hall of Paris will be transformed, from 18/06 to 10/07/2016, into the Square of Europe, a place of discovery of European culture which plays a vital role in the programming around Euro 2016," stated the Mayor of Paris on 17/06/2016.

"Visitors (free access) will enjoy each day (from 10:00 to 22:00) an exceptional programme co-constructed by the City of Paris and the delegations of the participating countries in Euro 2016 around the themes of 'Play', 'Vibrate' and 'Thinking' as well as culture, European values, and football," added the Mayor of Paris.

The event, officially opened on Monday, 20/06/2016, was originally scheduled on the banks of the Seine River (left bank, between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides), which were to be transformed into the "Berges of Europe" during Euro 2016. "The programme had to be relocated because of the heavy rain that caused the flooding of the Seine at the beginning of June," said the Mayor of Paris.
