Euro 2016: 13.8 million viewers for Slovakia - England on ITV (audience share 45.7%) and ITV2

Slovakia - England (0-0, Group B) at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard (Saint-Etienne), drew 12.8 million viewers on average on the private, free-TV channel ITV on Monday, 20/06/216 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), announced the channel in a statement on 21/06/2016. One million viewers on average also watched the game on ITV2.

The figure represented an audiance share of 45.7% for ITV, which was the best performance in the British television market for prime time on 20/06/2016. ITV and ITV2 registered a peak audience of 15.1 million cumulative viewers.

The meeting was not broadcast on ITV in Wales, which instead broadcast Russia - Wales (0-3, Group B), which drew 800,000 viewers on average. 600,000 viewers watched the Welsh game on ITV4 in the rest of the UK.

The Slovakia - England match is, to date, the most watched television programme - across all channels - in the UK market in 2016, according to local media.
