542 of the 552 players in Euro 2016 play their domestic football in a championship played within the 55 member countries of UEFA, according to the study "ECA Player Analysis Release", published by the ECA (European Club Association), on 10/06/2016.

This document provides statistics on the origin of all the players in Euro 2016, stating in particular that Juventus (Serie A TIM) and Liverpool FC (Premier League) are the two clubs who have provided the most players (12 each). However, it is Manchester United FC (Premier League) who total the most nations in which their players represent (7).

We also learn that three of the 24 teams have no players in their national championship: Iceland, Ireland and Northern Ireland (three countries who have qualified for the knockout stages). One, by contrast, has 23 players playing in the national championship: England (who have also qualified for the knockout stages).

215 clubs in total, including 206 European, provided at least one player participating in Euro 2016.
