Euro 2016: 99.8% audience share in Iceland for Iceland - Austria match on 22/06/2016

The Euro 2016 group stage match Iceland - Austria (2-1, Group F), at the Stade de France (Saint-Denis), drew an audience share of 99.8% on free-TV channel Skjarinn in Iceland, on 22/06/2016 (kick-off at 21:00 CET). This effectively means that out of every 1000 Icelandic people in front of a television at that time, 998 were watching the Iceland - Austria match.

The broadcast was watched by nearly two-thirds of the total 330,000 Icelandic population (68.5%), and in its entirety by over half of the population (54.6%), announced Siminn, the rights holder, on 23/06/2016.

The operator Siminn Telecom, which had obtained the rights to broadcast Euro 2016, in Iceland, in November 2014, drew an audience share of 98.9% in Iceland for their second stage group match against Hungary (1 -1), on Saturday, 18/06/2016 (kick-off at 18:00 CET).

67% of people in Iceland watched the national team's opening game against Portugal (1-1) on Skjarinn, on Tuesday, on 14/06/2016 (kick off at 21:00 CET).
