Hospitality: Infront sells its 5% stake in Match Hospitality to a private investor

Infront Sports & Media, the Swiss marketing and media rights agency, announced the sale of its 5% stake in the capital of Match Hospitality AG, on 24/06/2016. Match Hospitality AG, based in Zurich (SUI), has managed hospitality offers for FIFA international competitions since 2009 and will continue to do so until 2023.

"The agreement was signed already at the end of 2015, and closed in early June 2016. The shares were bought by a private investor, with no relation to Wanda Group, Infront or its subsidiary companies," said Infront Sports & Media, which belongs to Wanda, a Chinese conglomerate specialising particularly in entertainment, hospitality and real estate, since 10/02/2015.

"The divestment is the result of Infront’s strategic decision made already in 2014 to shift the focus of its service portfolio away from any operational catering and hospitality solutions. At the same time, Infront’s commitment to the marketing of hospitality packages for major sports events remains unchanged, and continues to be an important element of its sales portfolio," added the Swiss agency.
