The final of the 2016 Top 14 (French first division rugby), RC Toulon - Racing 92 (21-29), drew 99,124 spectators to the Camp Nou in Barcelona (ESP, capacity of 99,354), on Friday, 24/06/2016. "This is a record attendance for a club rugby match," said FC Barcelona (LaLiga) on the that day.

The previous record was achieved during Matchday 18 of the 2014-15 Aviva Premiership (English first division rugby), for the match between Saracens - Harlequins (42-14), which drew 84,068 spectators to Wembley Stadium (London, ENG, capacity 90,000), on 28/03/2015.

The world record for attendance at a rugby match stands at 109,874 spectators who witnessed Australia - New Zealand (35-39, Tri Nations) on 15/07/2000. at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney (AUS, capacity of 110,000 at the time, now 83,500 seats since 2003).
