"In France, even if you do not seem convinced, you have a very good championship, with good, young players, football is in your DNA, you are neither China nor the United States, and it is a matter of time before for your return to the top. It's imperative to have the will to work together. A league needs its clubs to advance, you must rally around Didier Quillot (CEO of the LFP) to refine your strategy and follow that strategy," said Christian Seifert (GER), CEO of the DFL, at the discussion titled "Why and how did the Bundesliga reform in 2001?", at the convention organised by the French union the Première Ligue, in Cannes on 29/06/2016.

Bernard Caiazzo, president of Première Ligue, Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais and Didier Quillot also spoke at the discussion with the objective to present the actions taken by the German League since the turn of the century to allow the Bundesliga to once again become one of the three biggest championships in Europe.
