FC Internazionale Milano: approval of the acquisition of a 68.55% stake by the Chinese group Suning

The Chinese multinational Suning, specialising in the distribution of electronic products and home appliances, officially acquired a 68.55% stake in FC Internazionale Milano (Serie A TIM), announced the club on 28/06/2016.

The Italian club first announced the arrival of Suning as the majority shareholder on 06/06/2016. This decision was approved at the club's Shareholders' Meeting, who issued 3,263,021,485 new shares to the Suning Holdings Group. The amount invested by the Suning, for 68.55% of Inter's capital, amounts to €270m.

As originally announced, International Sports Capital (an Indonesian group owned by Erick Thohir, which held a 70% stake in Inter Milan) becomes the minority shareholder, retaining 31.05% of the club. Erick Thohir, who had owned the club since 2013, remains president and executive chairman of Inter.

Internazionale Holding (owned by Massimo Moratti, who held 30% of the club) ceases to be a shareholder of the club, as all of its shares become the property of Suning. Massimo Moratti, the majority shareholder of the club from 18/02/1995 to 15/11/2013, remains in…
