"Our role is to coordinate the ten host cities in preparation for Euro 2016, both technical and financial planning, and the organisation of the event itself. It's also about exchanging information on everything we are doing. So it's a multi-faceted job," said Maurice Vincent, mayor of Saint-Étienne and president of the host cities committee for Euro 2016, at the presentation ceremony of the tournament's logo in Paris on the 26/06/2013.

"We are in talks with Euro 2016 SAS, the group that is organising the event, and UEFA's executive committee, about security, technical provisions and finance. We are also thinking about the best way in which host cities can contribute to the success of the Euro in terms of events, and public awareness and involvement," Vincent added.

"We are in contact with the French Football Federation and the Ministry of Sport, and we are sharing information. We can't forget that we have a role in preserving the interests of the cities and towns involved with this event."
