France: DNCG validates SC Bastia's presence in Ligue 1 in 2016-17, with wage bill supervision

"At the end of the proceedings decided after the initial hearing of 22/06/2016, the DNCG has validated the presence of Sporting Club de Bastia in Ligue 1 (for the 2016-17 season), with the supervision of the club's wage bill," announced SC Bastia (Ligue 1) on 05/07/2016.

The DNCG, which has final authority over professional sports licensing in France, had previously decided to stay the proceedings in the case of SC Bastia until 05/07/2016, following the hearing of the Corsican club's executives, the club previously announced on 23/06/2016.

The SC Bastia wage bill was already under supervision during the 2015-16 season, in which the club finished in 10^th place (50 points) in the 2015-16 Ligue 1 table.
