Netherlands: FIC to rebrand Eredivisie Live and launch Fox Sports in August 2013

FIC (Fox International Channels) have announced the rebranding of Eredivisie Live, the pay-tv channel dedicated to the Dutch 1st division, as Fox Sports Eredivisie, and the launch of Fox Sports in the Netherlands, on the 26/06/2013. The switch to Fox Sports Eredivisie goes live on the 01/08/2013, followed by the launch of Fox Sports on the 17/08/2013.

The newly named Fox Sports Eredivisie will still broadcast, on a three-channel multiplex, all the live matches of the Eredivisie (1st division), Jupiler League (2nd division), KNVB (Dutch football federation) Cup and Dutch teams in the Europa League.

Fox Sports will offer international football, including the Barclays Premier League, Serie A, the FA Cup (English domestic cup), the League Cup (English league cup), Coppa Italia (Italian Cup), DFB Pokal (German Cup) and the Europa League.

Both Fox Sports Eredivisie and Fox Sports will be managed by EMM (Eredivisie Media & Marketing), an FIC majority-owned joint venture between FIC, the 18 Eredivisie teams, KNVB and Endemol, the Dutch TV production company. FIC acquired 51% of EMM on the…
