FIFA: Tomaž Vesel (SVN) appointed chairperson of the Audit and Compliance Committee

"The Bureau of the FIFA Council today appointed Tomaž Vesel of Slovenia as the independent chairperson of FIFA’s Audit and Compliance Committee until the 67^th FIFA Congress, with immediate effect," announced the international federation on 06/07/2016.

Tomaž Vesel, 49 years old, succeeds Domenico Scala (ITA-SUI), who announced his resignation with immediate effect on 14/05/2016, following the 66^th Ordinary FIFA Congress held in Mexico City (MEX) on 13/05/2016. Domenico Scala displayed his disagreement with a decision by Congress to authorise "the Council (formerly the FIFA Executive Committee) to appoint the remaining members of the Audit and Compliance Committee, Governance Committee and judicial bodies by the 67^th FIFA Congress."
