Euro 2016: Germany - France draws 19.2 million viewers in France on TF1 (audience share: 68.8%)

The second semi-final of Euro 2016, Germany - France (0-2) at the Stade Velodrome (Marseille), drew an average of 19.231 million viewers in France (approximately 29.1% of the French population), with a peak audience of 22.2 million on the free, private channel TF1, on Thursday, 07/07/2016 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), according to data from Médiamétrie, the institute of audience measurement.

This figure represented an audience share of 68.8% and allowed TF1 to achieve the best audience of the competition by all channels. It is also the eighth largest French television audience ever.

The best performance in French television was in the semi-finals of the 2006 World Cup, France-Portugal, which drew 22.2 million viewers (audience share: 76.6%).
