Euro 2016: Germany - France draws 29.8 million viewers in Germany on ZDF (audience share: 80.6%)

The second semi-final of Euro 2016, Germany - France (0-2) at the Stade Vélodrome (Marseille), drew an average of 29.82 million viewers in Germany (about 37% of the German population) on German, public channel ZDF, on Thursday, 07/07/2016 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

This figure represented an audience share of 80.6% and allowed ZDF to achieve the best audience of the competition across all channels. This is a new record for a Euro match. The previous one was held by the 2008 semi-final, Germany-Turkey (3-2), which drew an average of 29.46 million viewers on ZDF, on 25/06/2008 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

In France, 19.231 million viewers (about 29.1% of the French population) watched Germany-France on free private channel TF1.
