Italian Super Cup : Juventus vs Lazio in Rome on the 18/08/2013

On the 27/06/2013, the Serie A (Italian first division) Assembly decided that the Italian Super Cup, between Juventus (league winners) and Lazio (cup winners), will be played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on the 18/08/2013.

The match was originally scheduled to be played in Beijing (China) on the 10/08/2013, where the game was held from 2009-2011, but on the 08/03/2013, Juventus announced that if they were to play in this match, they would only do so in Italy or in North America, where they are going on tour from the 31/07 to 07/08/2013.

The Assembly agreed to a Lazio request that they should be awarded €1.8m for the match, the sum they would have expected from going to Beijing. Juventus will take home any remaining revenue, up to €1.5m. Any surplus would be split between the league (10%) and both clubs (45% each).

Juventus have lodged an immediate appeal against this decision.
