Premier League: Manchester City sign their first professional eSports player (FIFA franchise)

Manchester City FC (Premier League) have signed Kieran Brown (18 years old), a professional eSports player specialising in the FIFA series, a football simulation video game (published by EA Sports), announced the English club on 06/07/2016. Kieran Brown becomes the first eSports player in the history of the club, and will represent Manchester City in competitions and at events with fans.

"As eSports continues to gain momentum, it makes sense for our club to be part of the action and get closer to our fans, who love playing EA Sports FIFA as Manchester City. We will be a bigger presence at gaming tournaments, we will have more content through our digital channels and we will activate even more with our fans at matches and club events," stated Diego Gigliani, senior vice-president for media and innovation of City Football Marketing, on 06/07/2016.
