The Vinci Group have won the contract to construct the new VTB Arena in Moscow, the company operating the stadium announced on the 26/06/2013. "Vinci Construction Grands Projets will coordinate the building of the facility with US-based Manica Architecture and Russian company Speech Architects," VTB Arena, a subsidiary of the Russian bank VTB, announced.

The project involves the reconstruction of Dynamo Moscow's stadium at an estimated cost of €210m. A 12,000 seat multi-purpose indoor arena will be built as part of the project. The 27,000 seater stadium is expected to be finished at the end of 2017. The extensive renovation is part of a larger project, including the restoration of a historic park, the construction of a sports centre, housing, shops, offices and luxury hotels. This project is estimated at €575m.

Due to its small capacity, the VTB Arena has not been chosen as a host stadium for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Two other stadiums in Moscow have been chosen however, the Luzhniki (capacity: 89,000) and the Spartak (capacity: 46,000).
